What’s your Astro Sign?

My Astro Sign ist Sun in Cancer, Moon in Gemini, Ascendent Libra.

What about your business makes you really proud or grateful?

I am especially proud of living out my passion and being able to share my passion through my business. The independence that I gained in the last years and how it is constantly evolving my business.

The worst advice you ever got and took?

The worst suggestion I ever got is to do something normal and just have a standard office job with more security.

What is a question that you are thinking about at the moment?

A question in my head is how can we liberate ourselves from all the mental blockages and categories that we put ourselves in through conditioning.

If you are looking for a very very sweet and short summary, if you only want to know THE MOST IMPORTANT thing of the entire podcast episode, this is for you:

Follow your heart and intuition. Even if is makes no rational sense (for others) it will guide you to your individual secret medicine, to the thing that’s totally your thing.

And here are some more takeaways of this episode curated for you:

  • Find your medicine:

Jules has been moving all her life, but when she found yoga that’s where she left her heart. The time she discovered handstand, she knew: This is what I want to learn, no matter how long it takes. And she also knew pretty soon that she didn't just want to practice it, but also share it and teach it.

What we take away from this:

You will know and feel with your whole body when you get to that point, to your heart's project or to your gift. It’s that strong inner YES, When you know you know.

  • Trust the process:

Jules is convinced that we should listen more to our gut feeling in the constant battle between the rational mind and intuition. She started "all normal" with a business degree after school. If someone had predicted that she would one day travel around the world practising and teaching yoga, she wouldn't have believed it. And even if it seems contradictory at first: in the end, her studies led her to yoga via a time abroad (you'll find out exactly how in the episode). The big lesson from this journey of Jules is:

There will be those moments when we just know where we belong, what we need to do and that we have arrived (for now).

  • Make meaningful choices:

Contrary to many voices in society and also from those around her, Jules says "I think it makes sense to listen to my heart." Not what others say, not what our society pretends is a supposedly good life is meaningful for everybody. When she wanted to go to India, everyone thought she was crazy. Jules just knew she had to do it and you can see where that courage and confidence has taken her!

    So let’s remember:

You don't have to be able to explain everything, things do not have to make sense, they have to feel right. and so often in retrospect in then makes a lot of sense.

  • No excuses:

Jules says there will always be people who have a better handstand than her, there will always be more and more yoga teachers. So if you think: “Why should I do this, I'm not perfect at it, there are so many who offer it already and who are better at it” - do. it. anyway. Nobody does it your way!

Jules didn't learn to do handstands as a toddler, she learned at 23 and she did not get good at it because she practiced for hours every day. She got where she is today because she just practices every day. It's about continuity and stop limiting yourself. Do you want to live by your excuses and your fears or do you want to do what you really want to do?

The thought of having to do everything perfectly is a great limitation that we should become aware of. Perfection is the natural consequence of continuous practice. Amen!

What’s better than being inspired? Being inspired and taking action steps!

Here’s what (we think) you can do:

  • Reflect on what you loved as a child because this can lead you to your passion. When you found your passion, trust that it is your passion.

  • Incorporate daily routines and rituals. For some people posting on Instagram every day sounds very exhausting. Jules approach on how to do exactly that is: “I don't make it bigger than what it is” So, what is one thing, that actually only takes 5 minutes to do, but you think a lot about how to do it “right” aka perfect so you never do it? Journal on this NOW. and then DO.IT!

  • Jules wrote her book by herself. When she gets asked “how did she do it?” she says, that she just did it and started. So if you want to want to accomplish something but don't know how to do it, just start. Everything else will develop from there. A Fun fact: The book title to Jules book came to her in a sound healing yoga class while being in shavasana. Sometimes doing nothing is pure efficiency!

  • Another thing we can learn from handstand: Most of the time it is not because of a lack of strength, mobility or practice but because we do not believe in ourselves. This can be transferred to our everyday life and business life as well.

What’s something that you are trying to master and you believe what’s missing is skills? And then think twice … is believing in yourself maybe what will bring you to the next level? And then keep changing your practice-patterns, because comfort-zone.
